About the Event

About our Presenter: 

Nancy spent much of her childhood in rural Wisconsin admiring wildflowers in the woods. Her mom and grandma made sure she knew the names and uses of  many local, native herbs and plants. This stirred her to dig deeper and learn more about what our surroundings have to offer us. Nancy is a certified Hand-Crafted Soap maker with teacher status through the Hand-Crafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild. She presents natural skin care classes, native plant walks, and educational demonstrations throughout the year. She and her husband operate Shady Lane Farm, a small business producting hand-made herbal and body care products.  To learn more, visit their website at: Shady Lane Farm

November's  garden themed Make-It-Take-It event will include: 

  • A presentation on Herbal Infusions, which will be an overview of some common herbs and how to use them.  
  • As time allows, there will also be a  presentation on Handmade Bath & Body care.
  • The balance of the time will be divided among various "make-it, take-it" projects.  
  • We will make 4 or 5 different items-either as a large group, or divided up into smaller groups.
  • All products will be based on herbal infusions or tinctures. 
  •  Although still in the planning stages, these projects could include underarm deodorant (incorporating infused sage); bath bombs/fizzies (incorporating infused lavender); "healing" balm (incorporating infused calendula and comfrey); herbal bath bag; insect repellent (incorporating catnip tincture).

-Hot beverages, cookies/bars, and fruit will be provided for your refreshment.

Important Event Registration/Fee Information: 

*Registration is limited to 40 participants 

*RSVP and Payment is required to secure your spot.

*The full cost of this event is $30. 

     **LAGC Members will have $15 of the event cost covered by your club. Please select the  $15 LAGC Member Ticket option** 

     **Guests will pay the full $30 cost of the event. Please select the $30 Guest Ticket option**

Registration Guidelines:

-Registration will close at 8:00 AM on October 31st, no exceptions/late RSVP requests can be honored.

-LAGC Members will be given priority to register and secure their spot until 8:00 PM on October 30th.

-Guests who register and pay will be  placed on a waiting list. On October 31st,  guests will be notified whether or not space is available.  If the event has been filled, your registration fee will be refunded.

-If you find you are unable to attend, please notify us and we will do out best to gather your supplies for you!

    The cost for this event is $15 for LAGC Members; LAGC will contribute an additional $15 to cover the full cost of this event. Your non-refundable payment covers the cost of your supplies. In the event you find you are not able to attend, we will do our best to gather supplies for you!

    The cost for this event is $30 for non- LAGC Members. *Your RSVP and payment places you on our waiting list. *Once your spot is confirmed on October 31th, this will be become a non-refundable payment. *If the event is full, you will be fully refunded. If at the last minute you find you are not able to attend, we will do our best to gather supplies for you!
