“Let the beauty of what you love be what you do” - Rumi
On March 9, 2020 members of the Lakeville Area Garden Club gathered at Living Waters Church to celebrate 30 years and going strong. Special guest, Lakeville Mayor Doug Anderson, was in attendance. The evening started at 6:30PM with munch and mingle consisting of hearty appetizers and dessert. At 7:00PM Jean Mahowald, First President, welcomed members and guests. Mayor Doug Anderson gave a greeting and spoke about the history of the City of Lakeville. Martha Erickson, 28 year member and leadership contributor, then presented the keynote address “How It All Began” outlining the history and early activities of the club. Robin Johnson, current President, recognized past and present club leadership, members with exemplary years of service, legacy members, and all club volunteers. Martha was presented with a gift from the club for her contribution to the program. Mayor Doug Anderson was made an honorary member of the club and presented with a certificate. An intermission followed during which time photos were taken by professional photographer and member: Jessica Peglow. Fun-filled games and prizes ensued. The evening concluded at 9:00PM. A big thank you to the event planning committee for a wonderful evening!
