A Zoom Holiday Party to Remember!

On December 14th, the LAGC met over Zoom to celebrate the holidays in style. The Holiday Party committee did a great job creating a fun event even with our limitations due to COVID-19.

Sue W was our emcee and is the new LAGC President!

We started off by thanking Robin Johnson for her 2 (plus 1!) years of service as the LAGC President. Sue Williamschen, who has served our club as Vice President for these past 3 years was installed as our new president and Laura Thompson became our new Vice President. Both Sue and Laura were elected into these roles in October.

Cheers to Robin J and her service to the LAGC!

Many unique hats were tipped to Robin - everything from traditional Santa hats to gardening hats to sparkly hats like the one Denise H sported - Denise also won the prize for "best hat" in our holiday party.

We enjoyed catching up with everyone over Zoom.

We also played online BINGO, which was a big hit. We are certainly thankful for technology which has brought us all together in a year we are sure to remember for years and years to come.

Dawn E calling online Bingo was memorable!

We wrapped up the evening by sharing some successes we have had in our gardens in 2020. Many members talked about the fact that they have had more time at home and more time to spend in their gardens this year. Straw Bale Gardening was a big success for many of our members after learning about it in our 2020 straw bale Zoom program.

Thank you to the Holiday Party Committee for making the best out of a unique situation and helping us to come together to celebrate - even though we could not be physically together in person!

It was an evening of fun and merriment for all!
