Volunteer for an event


Come join us on the second Monday of each month for meetings with speakers during the months of January-April and September and for tours and other special events in May through August, and in November and December. Locations, dates, and times for special events may vary; please see each Event for specifics details.

Upcoming Events

 

The club hosts monthly events for our members including guest speakers, garden tours in the summer and other community events. The meetings are typically on the second Monday of each month, and most are free to members.

 

Guests are welcome to attend an open event, and if they would like to continue attending meetings, membership is only $26 per year. See our MEMBERSHIP page for more information and to join! Guest pre-registration is required to help us with space planning /receive your Zoom meeting link --thank you!

January 8th, 2024 Monthly Meeting with presentation by  Jennifer Resenbrink, Hennepin County Master Gardener and contributor to the Northern Gardener magazine, on "Good Looking Garden." 

  • Presentation, discussion and vote on annual budget proposal during the business meeting

  • Membership Renewal Drive concludes  on January 15th
     

February 12th, 2024 Monthly Meeting with presentation by Debbie Lonnee from Bailey's Nurseries, on "Hydrangeas of the North." Debbie's presentation will be by zoom but we will meet in person for fellowship and to  learn together!

  • Presentation by Programs team and vote on dates for summer tours

  • Discussion about Apparel and Gear Ordering
     

March 1st  to April 1st-Tentative dates Gift Card Fund-Raiser

March 11th, 2024 Monthly Meeting with a presentation by Madeline Wimmer, Fruit Crops Extension Educator for the University of Minnesota Extension services on "Growing Fruit in Small Spaces,"  and  presentation by Meghan Darley,  Natural Resource Specialist at Scott County, on "Scott County's Winter  Tree Sale; Fruit Trees Highlighted." 

  • Apparel and Gear Order concludes at monthly meeting (if ordering)
     

April 8th, 2024  Monthly Meeting with presentation by Gigi  Stafne, Director and Lead Instructor at Green Wisdom School of Natural and Botanical Medicine, on "Herbs for a Healthy Culinary and Medicinal Home Garden"

  • Gift Cards from fundraiser distributed at this meeting

  • Presentation by Plant Sale Committee on upcoming Plant Sale

  • Presentation by Community Gardens Committee on upcoming Gardens Planting and Spring Clean-up 

  • Yellow Ribbon Women's Luncheon participation discussion

May 2024  Date yet to be finalized, carpool  Tour to Greenhouses and Nurseries in Scandia/Stillwater area. 

May 19-20th  LAGC Plant, Garden Extras, and Garden Crafts  Sale to coincide with Lakeville's Citywide Garage Sale

May 22nd All-Membership Community Gardens Veteran's Memorial Gardens flower planting with boxed dinner and brief business meeting

  • Presentation by Programs Committee on upcoming Summer Tours

  • "How to Show" activity presented by the Flower Show Committee
     

June 2024 Date yet to be finalized, carpool Tour of the Landscape Arboretum with a class on "Bees and Pollinators."

July 15th  8:00-4:00 LAGC Flower Show during the Lakeville Pan-O-Prog

July 2024   Date and tour yet to be finalized, Members Bus tour of  Gardens. 

August  12th, 2024 Member's Pot Luck diner and Garden visits/tours.

September 9th, 2024  Monthly Meeting with presentation by Dean Davis, Master Gardener on "Putting Your Garden to Bed"
