Join us for our monthly events

Volunteer for an event

Come join us on the second Monday of each month for meetings in the Lecture Hall at McGuire Middle School in the months of January-April and September and October. Locations, dates, and times for the other months vary; please see each Event for specifics details.

21220 Holyoke Avenue, Lakeville

***Enter in the front (west) entrance off Holyoke. Typically, only the far left door is unlocked. If  these doors are locked, park in the south, pool entrance lot, then walk down the long hall back towards the main entrance. Look for signs pointing left to the Lecture Hall.***

Upcoming Events

The club hosts monthly events for our members including guest speakers, garden tours in the summer and other community events. The meetings are typically on the second Monday of each month, and most are free to members.


Guests are welcome to attend an open event, and if they would like to continue attending meetings, membership is only $26 per year. See our MEMBERSHIP page for more information and to join! Guest pre-registration is required to help us with space planning /receive your Zoom meeting link --thank you!

January 9th Monthly Meeting Linda Stein from the Dakota County Master Gardeners on  Garden Design for a Deck or Patio Garden

  • Membership Renewal Drive begins at this meeting- see full details in our newsletter

  • Presentation, discussion and vote on annual budget proposal during the business meeting

February 13th Monthly Meeting with presentation by members  Laura Thompson and Pat Mahowald, LAGC Members,  on Indoor Seed Starting and Outdoor Winter Sowing. LAGC Members can take home a seed starter set!!

  • Membership Renewal Drive Concludes at the end of this monthly meeting

  • Discussion about Apparel and Gear Ordering- Posible date for Apparel and Gear order to  begin

March 1st  to April 1st-Gift Card Fund Raiser

March 13th Monthly Meeting with presentation by Michelle Scullard from the Dakota County Master Gardeners on The Birds and Bees of Plant Propagation

  • Apparel and Gear Order concludes at monthly meeting

April 10th Monthly Meeting with speaker, Dianne McGann from the Minnesota State Horticultural Society on The Rules of Garden Design

  • Gift Cards from fundraiser distributed at this meeting

  • Presentation by Plant Sale Committee on upcoming Plant Sale

  • Presentation by Community Gardens Committee on upcoming Gardens Plant and Spring Clean up event

May 4th, All day Thursday  Nursery Tour to Greenhouses and Nurseries in the south/west metro area. 

May 19-20th  LAGC Plant, Garden Extras, and Garden Crafts  Sale to coincide with Lakeville's Citywide Garage Sale

May 22nd All-Membership Community Gardens spring clean-up, flower planting with boxed dinner and brief meeting

  • Presentation by Programs Committee on upcoming Summer Tours

  • "How to Show" activity presented by the Flower Show Committee

June 19th  6:00-9:00 Tour of Member Joys S's Lakeville Gardens and the Lavender Barnyard in Farmington

  • Aronson and Pioneer Plaza Garden Maintenance

July 15th  8:00-4:00 LAGC Flower Show during the Lakeville Pan-O-Prog

July 24th Member Pot Luck Dinner at the home of Lora C followed by tour of Springwood’s Gardens (day lilies)

August  19th, All day Saturday Tour of Reknown Gardens  is in development at this time

September 11th Monthly Meeting with Speakers, Certified Arborists Chad and Robin Gilbin on Selection and Growing Trees for the Urban Environment

  • Holiday Party Committee’s Presentation and vote by members present at the meeting

October 9th Monthly Meeting with Speaker Marty Bergland from the Minnesota State Horticultural Society on Easy Ways to Preserve the Harvest: Growing, Preserving, Drying, and Canning with Minnesota Produce

  • Yellow Ribbon Veteran's Appreciation Dinner contribution 

  • Aronson and Pioneer Plaza Garden Fall clean up

November 13th Monthly Meeting at local Nursery with Winter Themed Creation: Winter Swag

  • Team Leaders announced and  Volunteer opportunities shared

  • Minnesota Give to the Max Day Charitable Donations given

December 11th Holiday Party for Members
