LAGC Volunteering Opportunities
Where can I help?
Our club is solely run by volunteer members!

There are so many volunteer opportunities with the garden club! See below to learn about the volunteer roles within Lakeville Area Garden Club.

Our biggest volunteer needs are always the Plant Sale and Programs committees.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Providing leadership and service to our club and community

Our executive committee provides oversight and guidance for our club, manages our finances and other tracking needed.

President: Laura Thompson
Vice President: Chris Presson
Treasurer: Lois Grassl
Secretary: Angie Lueschen

Each role is a 2 year service to the club.
PROGRAMS COMMITTEE
Organizing club programs including monthly speakers and tours

The Programs Committee plays a key role in organizing monthly events for the club including special guests. One of the benefits of contributing to the programs team is you get the chance to help determine what speakers we bring into our club!

PLANT SALE COMMITTEE
Managing our annual plant sale -- our biggest fundraiser

Our plant sale is our annual fundraising event that determines our club's operating expenses each year.
Funds raised help to cover the cost of our speakers, the expenses for summer tours and the November greenhouse project, our Holiday Party, our community service project at Aronson Park and the Lakeville Arts Center, annual benevolence giving, and more

Plants are donated from our club members, including vegetables, annuals, perennials, and houseplants.

This is an "all hands on deck" event, as we need every member to contribute in order for this event to be successful.
Assistance is needed with setup, plant donations, hosting, wrap-up. Join us in helping to raise funds for our club!

PAN-O-PROG FLOWER SHOW
Hosting our annual Flower Show during Lakeville's Pan-O-Prog
The club hosts the Lakeville Panorama Of Progress (Pan-O-Prog) Flower Show in Downtown Lakeville. Help is needed in set up, hosting the day of, and take down.

Please see Events for the most up to date information.

COMMUNICATIONS & TECH COMMITTEE
Assisting with communications & tech tools -- website, facebook, flyers...

The Communications Committee provides a variety of communications and social media services including newsletters, website technical management and updates, Facebook technical management and updates, and other mediums
This committee supports technology tools to allow other committees to be most effective in their responsibilities and communications.

This is a great role for someone who wants more of a "behind the scenes" job within the club.
COMMUNITY GARDENS
Tending community park gardens for the enjoyment of all

Every summer, we plant annuals at Aronson Park and we maintain the ground of the Arts Center, which is host to our monthly meetings.

SUNSHINE PROGRAM COMMITTEE
Sharing kindness and uplifting those in need in our club
Our Sunshine Program Committee accepts requests from club members to give to those in need within the club, such as a family loss.

Currently the Executive Team takes care of this role.
HOLIDAY PARTY COMMITTEE
Celebrating the end of the season with great food and fellowship
Each year we end the year with a wonderful Holiday Party including food, door prizes, recognition of members and more.

HISTORIAN
Managing the history of our club including photos, information, and more...
As a historian, the history of our club is captured in photos and documents, and the information is shared with others.
