Community Service

Each year, LAGC designates 10% of the profits from our plant sale towards local community service and community service organizations. Below are the recipients.

As a service to and in appreciation of our community, the Lakeville Area Garden Club members, along with Kevin Miller and Eisele Greenhouse plant red, white, and blue flowers in the garden bed and planters at the Lakeville Veterans Memorial at Aronson Park.

The Minnesota Green project run by MSHS promotes community gardening, connecting people, and helping neighbors to grow healthy food. Organizations donate plants and gardening supplies and MSHS distributes the donations to non-profit groups gardening in community gardens and in public green spaces across the state. LAGC donates all remaining plants at the conclusion of our annual plant sale.

The Yellow Ribbon organization is a program to help service members and their families prepare for, to see them through, and to help with reintegration after deployments. LAGC attends the Lakeville chapter Spring luncheon for service women and their families to promote gardening as a way to relax and enjoy nature, and as a way to become involved with others in the community. LAGC provides a potted plant that is used as a door prize.
