2021 Sept | "Growing Microgreens" Dennis Vitali of Great Northern Microgreens

Dennis Vitali of Great Northern Microgreens is our September speaker and will be speaking and doing a demo on  'how to' growing microgreens at home".   His talk will cover a few different parts:

- what microgreens are, and why they're good for you

- health benefits of specific microgreens

- (if in person) a sampling/tasting of various kinds of microgreens

- how best to use them aka eat them

- supplies and ideal environment (lighting, temp) needed for growing at home

- the actual process to grow them

- Q & A

 He will also offer us a chance to purchase home grow kits, seeds, soil, and supplies

His demo will also offer us the opportunity to taste and try a variety of microgreens.  There are massive health benefits of these little plants.  This might help you decide what you would like to grow at home and give you ideas on how to incorporate them into your their diet.  He will discuss details regarding specific healt.

The demo portion will show why microgreens are so attractive to grow at home - fresh food in 10-14 days with little effort (it's literally about a 5 minute process when you have the supplies)!  Dennis will walk through the general process and what's needed, but there's usually a LOT of questions regarding what supplies they already have, lighting, and each person's home growing situation.  Dennis will try to give lots of general info while answering questions at the same time.

 

There will be actual Taste Testing of the microgreens!
