About the Event
The indoor living wall at the School of Environmental Studies in Apple Valley, Minnesota, serves as a central, living feature in the school's common area. Maintained through student projects and staff guidance, this vertical garden helps purify indoor air, adds natural green space, and functions as a hands-on learning tool for environmental science. The wall features dozens of species of tropical and regional plants carefully selected to thrive in an indoor vertical setup. It is student maintained, monitored, and sometimes re-landscaped through student-led STEAM and biology projects.
About our speaker:
Brad is an Animal Sciences Specialist and Agriculture Education Instructor at the School of Environmental Studies. He works with Animal Care Career Development as it relates to College in the Schools (CIS) in the fields of animal science, zoos, aquariums, and small animal care. He has also been in charge of the “living wall” at the school for many years.”
