Join us for a special presentation from Emeritus-Master Gardener, Dean Davis. Come learn best practices to put your gardens to bed for the winter. Plus, set them up for a successful 2025 growing season. Annuals, perennials, bulbs, shrubs, and lawns will be discussed. Bring your questions, please!

About the Event
Thank you for having me back to share garden best practices at your garden club meeting. All gardener's know the best dirt!
I grew up on my family's century owned dairy farm near Pelican Rapids, MN. I knew farming wasn't a career for me early on, but the love of growing plants and digging in the earth has never left my spirit.
I spent a total of 40 years teaching elementary school, working with staff development, and managing the state and federal testing for the Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools retiring in 2007.
My gardening passions lead me to collect and grow over 400 different colors of daylily in our nearly 1/3 acer yard in Apple Valley. To further my horticulture knowledge base, I became a Dakota County Master Gardener. I now enjoy Emeritus status with the state of MN.
What I thought was a great idea in building up my extensive gardens and plant collections through my 30s and 40s is now..."Dude, what were you thinking!" I'm now downsizing them returning to more grass gardens. The passion is still there, but age has crept up faster than expected nor appreciated.
In addition to gardening, I also enjoy jam making, pickle packing, baking, being at the lake and in AZ with family and friends
