John has been gardening ever since he was a child helping his mom. He has been a master gardener in Dakota County for 16 years, where he has taught multiple classes on vegetable gardening. John has been a certified SFG instructor for over 10 years. He has taught for many years through ISD 196 Community Ed as well as many garden clubs and organizations. He also teaches community Ed classes for ISD 194 (Lakeville), ISD 196, Prior Lake and St Paul Public School. He also is a small business owner, Easy Gardens by John, wherhe provides garden consultations, sells and installs vegetable gardens, especially SFG and sells vegetable seeds and transplants. Other interests include beekeeping and knitting. John also has somewhat converted his suburban property into a mini homestead with ten 4x8 raised beds, several chickens and several fruit trees and 4 bee hives. This past fall he planted over 800 cloves of garlic and 7 different varieties. He is continually adding to the property more gardens, both vegetables and pollinators, and eventually will have no grass to mow.
