About the Speaker:
Mary Lahr Schier is a Minnesota gardener, writer and editor and author of The Northern Gardener, From Apples to Zinnias, 150 Years of Garden Wisdom (Minnesota Historical Society Press, 2017), winner of the Silver Award of Merit from GardenComm in 2018. For 18 years, she edited Northern Gardener magazine. She has hosted a gardening podcast and currently writes on substack.com as well as on her blog mynortherngarden.com. Mary has been gardening seriously since the 1990s. After moving to a suburban townhouse in 2022, Mary does her gardening in containers, in a community garden and as a volunteer gardener.
